What OCD is Like: Worrying at the Speed of Thought

I used to worry about a small number of things for weeks or months or years on end. Now I worry about millions of things, but for much shorter periods. Weirdly, that feels like progress.

Progress is good, and this sounds like it is!  I also like the angelic lady you have on your shoulder in the first scene.

Here’s a funny thing.  I have a friend who I think might be the happiest person I have ever known.  He just seems to be hard-wired that way.  And he has all kinds of super advice for me on post-orthopedic surgery rehab, because he’s broken many bones.  He said that it’s not that he’s a thrill-seeker, but it’s just that he never thinks anything bad is going to happen, until it does.  That’s not bad or good and I’m not suggesting that this is equal-but-opposite to what you’ve been describing for us–but just to mention, perhaps, an example from the other end of the spectrum.

I love this guy.  Yeah, it very much feels like that – just a question of basic mindset, of how one views the world.  Is it a safe place full of opportunity or a dangerous place full of traps?  I’d love to try your friend’s head on for a day.

Yeah, just have an ambulance trail you.
